Family: Cupressaceae.

Also Used For:

Orally, Bai Zi Ren / Oriental Arborvitae is used orally for headache, apprehension, calming nervous disorders and excitement, for cancer, constipation, convulsions, dysmenorrhea, ejaculation problems, narrowing of intestine, fever, vomiting blood, bloody stools, blood in urine, hemorrhage, insomnia, painful menses, heavy menstrual flow, irregular and variable menstrual bleeding, nausea, neurasthenia, palpitation, perspiration, rheumatism, tumors, and as a tonic. It is also used orally for diuretic, laxative, menstrual-stimulant, pain-reliever, parasiticide, and sedative effects.

Topically, Bai Zi Ren / Oriental Arborvitae is used for nosebleed, piles, for burns and scalds, and as a hair tonic. It is also used topically for its astringent and antiperspirant properties.

Dosage: 6 – 18g.
