Indications:
SP
and ST yang deficiency causing phlegm accumulation which affects
the LU; or taiyang disease was mistreated and guided into the SP
leading to water accumulation. Symptoms include fullness in the
chest and hypochondria, palpitations, shortness of breath,
coughing up clear and watery sputum, dizziness. T: pale and
swollen with white slippery or greasy coat; P: slippery and either
wiry or soft.
Applications:
edema due to inefficient heart function, edema due to mal
nutrition, chronic bronchial asthma, berry berry, neurasthenia,
chronic nephritis. Also used for obesity due to Retention of Damp
Heat
Caution: when the
phlegm has turned to yellow, do not use this formula.
