Rhubarb and Moutan Combination

Functions: Drains Heat, breaks up Blood Stasis, disperses clumping, reduces swelling

Formula:

*dissolve in strained decoction

Indications: Intestinal abcess or acute appendicitis due to heat and blood causing lower abdominal distension and pain on the right that increases with pressure, very tender.  May also be a mass in the lower abdomen, irregular intermittent fever followed by chills and sweating. T: thin yellow greasy coat; P: slippery rapid.
