dissolve in strained decoction
- Once
diarrhea has been induced this formula should be discontinued.
Indications: Yangming organ disease (pi man zhao shi -
fullness, firmness, dryness, excess) causing masses in the abdomen,
severe constipation and gas, abdominal fullness and pain that
dislikes pressure, abdomen feels tense and firm; or yang jaundice
with gallstones where the heat is greater than damp. 2. Fire and
toxin are severe, so the water parts extravasate causing watery
dysentery with odorous stools, bowel incontinence while in a coma,
mania, or convulsions with high fever.
T: bright red, dry yellow or black coat; P: rapid, forceful.
Notes:
- Do not use
during pregnancy
- Formula is
very cold and can cause diarrhea and vomiting.
- Sometimes
used to treat wind stroke of closed type.
