 Wind-Damp Bi

Bai Hu Jia Gui Zhi Tang

 

White Tiger Plus Cinnamon Twig D.

Function: Clear Heat and stop pain

Composition: 

 

Shi Gao

Gypsum

20-30g

 

Zhi Mu

Anemarrhena

9-12g

 

Gan Cao

Glycyrrhiza

3-9g

 

Gui Zhi

Cinnamomum

3-9g

 

Jing Mi

Oryza

15-30g

Decoct the first four herbs, then add the rice at the end.  It will absorb the water to make a thick liquid

Indications: Invasion of wind, damp and heat that gives rise to bi-syndromes.  There is heat in the yangming channel with slight external cold and damp causing obstruction in the channels.  Symptoms include painful joints, fever, thirst, irritability, swelling of the joints.  T: white or yellow with greasy coat; P: wiry and rapid

 

Note: Compare to bai hu jia cang zhu tang.  Gui zhi and cang zhu are permuted.
