Composition: 

 

Shi Gao

Gypsum

25-30g

 

Zhi Mu

Anemarrhena

9-12g

 

Gan Cao

Glycyrrhiza

3-6g

 

Cang Zhu

Atractylodes

3-9g

 

Jing Mu

Oryza

15-30g

Decoct the first four herbs, then add the rice at the end.  It will absorb the water to make a thick liquid

Indications: Damp heat febrile disease or damp bi-syndrome with heat causing severe sweating and joint pain with swelling and redness.  Joints feel hot to the touch.  T: red, sticky yellow coat; P: slippery, rapid, or flooding.

 

Note: Compare to bai hu jia gui zhi tang.  Gui zhi and cang zhu are permuted.
