  • local (i.e. nosebleed, paralysis, eye problems)
  • Location:  directly below the pupil, between the pupil & the infraorbital ridge.  

ST2 (sibai)

  • local
  • Location:  1 cun below the pupil in the depression of the ingraorbital foramen.

ST4 (dicing)

  • local, inability to eat
  • Location:  4 fen lateral to the corner of the mouth.

ST5 (daying)

  • local (i.e. ear problems, jaw problems)
  • Location:  1.3 cun anterior to the angle of the mandible.

ST6(jiache)

  • [GhoSTpoint] local
  • Location :  at the prominence of the masseter muscle anterior superior to the angle of the mandible.  

ST7 (xiaguan)

  • local
  • Location:  in the depression directly below the zygomatic arch, anterior to the condyloid process.

ST8 (touwei)

  • any headache
  • Location:  4.5 cun lateral to the midline, .5 cun within the hairline (corner of hair), or 3.5 cun above the eyebrow.  

ST9 (renying)

  • sore throat, dyspnea
  • Location:  at the level of the adam’s apple on the anterior border of the sterno- cleidomastoid muscle (caution: major blood vessels)

ST12 (quepen)

  • cough, sore throat
  • Location:  in the supraclavicular fossa, on the nipple line.

ST15 (wuyi)

  • mastitis, cough, local
  • Location:  4 cun from the midline in the 2nd intercostals space.

ST16 (yingchuang)

  • local, mastitis
  • Location:  4 cun from the midline in the 3rd intercostals space.

ST18 (rugen)

  • mastitis, lactation, placenta delivery
  • Location:  directly below the nipple in the 5th intercostals space.

ST21 (liangmen)

  • nausea, vomit, loose stool
  • Location:  2 cun lateral to the midline, 4 cun above the umbilicus.

ST25 (tianshu)

  • [Alarm Mu of LI]
  • diarrhea/constipation, edema, abdominal pain
  • Location:  2 cun lateral to the umbilicus.

ST28 (shuidao)

  • urinary blockage, hernia, dysentry
  • Location:  2 cun lateral to the midline, 3 cun inferior to the umbilicus.

ST30 (qichong)

  • [meeting point of Chong Mai]
  • genital pain, menstrual problems, hernia
  • Location:  2 cun lateral to the midline, level with the superior border of the pubic symphysis.

ST32 (futu)

  • lumbar pain, cold knees, local paralysis
  • Location:  in the middle of the anterior thigh, 6 cun above the patella.

ST34 (liangqiu)

  • [Xi-Cleft]
  • pain, knee swelling, Stomach pain, mammary Yong
  • Location:  2 cun superior to the lateral border of the patella.

ST36 (zusanli)

  • [Command point of abdomen, 9 needle to return Yang]
  • harmonize mid Jiao, internal stagnation, thoracic Blood Stasis, Wind/Damp, Yuan Qi, expels & prevents
  • Location:  3 cun below the inferior border of the patella, one finger breadth lateral to the anterior creSTof the tibia.

ST37 (shangjuxu)

  • [Lower He of LI]
  • intestinal Yong, abdominal pain, Damp/Heat
  • Location:  3 cun inferior to zusanli, one finger breadth lateral to the anterior creSTof the tibia.

ST38 (tiaokou)

  • shoulder pain, wind/damp
  • Location:  2 cun below shangjuxu

ST39 (xiajuxu)

  • [Lower He of SI]
  • constipation, Damp/Heat, mammary Yong, pinched spinal nerve testicular pain
  • Location:  1 cun below tiaokou.

ST40 (fenglong)

  • [Connect to SP]
  • Spleen Lung Heart Phlegm, wheezing
  • Location:  1 cun lateral to tiaokou.

ST41 (jiexi)

  • Stomach Heat, food stagnation, facial swelling, constipation
  • Location:  at the level of the tip of the external malleolus, between extensor hallucis longus & extensor digitorum longus.

ST44 (neiting)

  • Stomach Heat, food stagnation, nosebleed, diarrhea
  • Location:  on the dorsum of the foot, between the 2nd & 3rd toes, 0.5 cun proximal to the margin of the web.

ST45 (lidui)

  • excess dreaming/mania, facial swelling/paralysis
  • Location:  1 fen proximal to the lateral corner of the nail of the 2nd toe.
