LI 1 (shangyang)

  • toothache, sore throat, Heat diseases
  • Location:  on the radial side of the index finger, 1 fen proximal to the corner of the nail.

LI 4 (hegu)

  • [Command point of face & mouth, Yuan-source]
  • headache, red sore eyes, nosebleed, sore throat, facial paralysis, menstrual block, diarrhea &/or constipation
  • Location:  when squeezing thumb against index finger, it is the highest point on the bulge, needled close to the 2nd metacarpal bone.

LI 5 (yangxi)

  • headache, red sore eyes, toothache, sore throat, deafness/ tinnitus
  • Location:  on the wrist line between the 2 tendons connected to the thumb (extensor pollicis brevis & extensor pollicis longus).

LI 6 (pianli)

  • [Connect to LU]
  • edema, inhibited urine, nosebleed, deafness
  • Location:  one quarter of the way between the line connecting LI 5 & LI 11.

LI 7 (wenliu)

  • [Xi-Cleft]
  • headache, facial swelling, abdominal pain
  • Location:  on the line connecting LI 5 & LI 11, 2 cun above LI 6.

LI 10 (shousanli)

  • abdominal pain, vomit, diarrhea
  • Location:  2 cun below LI 11   

LI 11 (quchi)

  • [Ghost point] s
  • ore throat, clear Heat, vomit, dysentry
  • Location:  at the end of the lateral crease of the elbow when flexed.

LI 14 (binao)

  • [meet w/ SI & BL]
  • local, scrofula
  • Location:  at the distal insertion of the deltoid (where it comes to a point on the humerus)

LI 15 (jianyu)

  • local, scrofula
  • Location:  directly below the anterior border of the acromion, where a depression is  formed when the arm is abducted.

LI 16 (jugu)

  • local, scrofula
  • Location:  in the triangle depression between the acromial extremity of the clavicle & the spine of the scapula.

LI 20 (yingxiang)

  • nasal congestion/bleeding, facial paralysis & swelling
  • Location:  in the naso-labial groove, at the level of the midpoint of the lateral border of the ala nasi (flared/winged part of nostril)
